چکیده
Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) are self-rated scales and indices developed to improve the detection of patients’ subjective experience. Given that a considerable number PROMs available, it is important evaluate their validity usefulness in specific research or clinical setting. Published guidelines, based on psychometric criteria, do not fit with complexity challenges, because quest for homogeneity components inadequate attention sensitivity. Psychometric theory has stifled field led routine use widely accepted yet history poor performance. Clinimetrics, science measurements, may provide more suitable conceptual methodological framework. The aims this paper outline major limitations model criteria clinimetric patient-reported (CLIPROMs). characteristics related reliability, sensitivity, validity, utility instruments critically reviewed, particular reference differences between approaches. Of note fact PROMs, rating scales, according display relevant properties. present underpins importance clinimetric methodology choosing appropriate PROMs. CLIPROM also guide development new validation existing be employed settings.

Background: The Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE) is a simple, one-question patient-reported outcomemeasure (PROM). We systematically reviewed correlations between SANE and more extensive PROMs.Methods: We identified studies with correlation coefficients between SANE and other shoulder, knee, and anklespecificPROMs. We calculated mean, median and range across studies...
